# I disabled the mandatory completion of the analysis tool, but I still cannot advance the step
In the Occurrences module, you can define which steps will be mandatory in the process.
This means that when a new occurrence is registered, it will follow exactly the configuration that was valid at that moment, ensuring greater control and efficiency in the management and treatment of occurrences.

### Accessing the Settings
To make any adjustments in the **Settings** tab, you must have the **“Manage”** permission.
This permission is defined under **Configurations > Roles and Permissions**.
To access the specific settings for the module, simply click the **settings icon** located in the lower-left corner of the screen. From there, you will have access to all configuration options available for the module.

### **Why can’t I advance the step?**
If any configuration is modified **after** an occurrence has already been created, this change will **not** be applied to existing occurrences.
Only occurrences created **after** the configuration change will follow the new definitions.
The **date and time** of each modification are recorded in the lower‑right corner of the screen, making it easy to track all changes made.
